All the News That Fits
Rolling Stones started mysteriously showing up in my mailbox a few months ago. I eventually learned that I'd received a complimentary one-year subscription to this essential popular-culture biweekly for buying tickets to the Download Festival. Here's some of the significant entertainment news I hadn't known until I skimmed through the latest issue:
- Creed broke up in 2004.
- Scott Stapp, the singer from Creed, once got into fistfight with the members of 311. By all accounts he kicked the drummer's ass.
- The singer from the Strokes favors the sort of jacket that drum majorettes wear; the guitarist who's grown his hair looks exactly like John Waite during his tenure with Bad English; the Stroke who plays bass and is possessed of the most hateful hair in rock resembles this guy I knew in college who required some sort of apparatus that helped him breathe at night while he was sleeping.
- A live Kid Rock album in 2006!
- Larry Wachowski, co-creator of The Matrix movies, is a submissive who likes to wear women's clothing.
- Jamie Foxx's CD is no. 1 on the charts, and rightly so.
- The actor who played the ghost in the subway in Ghost is named Vincent Schiavelli, and even though he looked horrific he was a sweet, gentle soul who's dead now.
Thanks, Jann Wenner!
